图书简介
This is a handbook that relates to the management of dermatology conditions. The premise is to develop a book that is portable, accessible to all clinicians practising dermatology and one that can rapidly be checked in clinic to help decide on treatment options. The intention is to create a book similar to the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine, but based on dermatology management. Whilst several excellent books exist to help with understanding dermatological conditions and diagnosis, there is a lack of good resources focusing on the topic of management. The Handbook of Dermatology Management is a succinct and easy-to-read guide that will support clinicians in making an evidence-based decision to managing skin conditions. With a succinct overview for each condition, recommendations on appropriate investigations and history-taking points, as well as clinical pearls, this book will become an essential resource for anyone managing skin diseases. It is designed with a busy clinician in mind ? with an A-Z format to easily find a condition, a step-by-step layout and carefully considered visualisations to allow information to be read and understood in seconds. Evidence-based categories are easily laid out (1-4) to ensure that clinicians understand the evidence-base from which their recommendations are extracted. Furthermore, a very brief overview of how successful treatments are, is included with each treatment so that both the clinician and the patient can make appreciate what the chances of success of a certain treatment are. The appendix section has a visually enhanced guide to prescribing systemics, including appropriate investigations, contraindications and how to manage complications. It also includes over 20 essential lists such as differentials for a blistering eruption, telangiectasia and retiform purpura, as well as essential tables such as melanoma excision margins and follow-up recommendations.
