图书简介
Aimed at the level of the everyday clinical user of ultrasound who has extensive practical application of the physics, as would be required in everyday clinical practice. The book will include full descriptions of the most recent techniques such as ultrafast ultrasound and elastography, making it up-to-date and relevant for future teaching The style used is aimed to facilitate ease of understanding and this is achieved as follows: Uses a first-person lecture style rather than a highly academic third person style of writing, thus taking the reader through a story that delivers the required knowledge. Extensive use of bullet point lists enabling key points to be clearly seen and appreciated. Extensive use of diagrams and images throughout, as used in teaching a class. Clinical application is made throughout the text as and when it is relevant. In addition, there is an appendix on knobology that brings the application of what is learned all together, thus keeping at the forefront of the students mind why it is necessary to know the physics and how it is applied. Equations and mathematics are only used where they illustrate relationships between factors. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the scale or degree of the result, but it is not considered necessary for the student to do more calculation than is given. An appendix covers revision of the handling of equations. Everyday examples of the physics are used to and link it to what the student is already familiar with. Additional more-in-depth descriptions are given in boxes indicating they are optional for those who want to know a bit more. The book includes full descriptions of the most recent techniques such as ultrafast ultrasound and elastography, making it up-to-date and relevant for future teaching. Some of these are complex techniques to understand and every effort has been used to explain them as clearly as possible, at a level of depth so as to allow the reader to genuinely understand what is being done.
