Wireless Communications Systems Design provides the basic knowledge and methodology for wireless communications design. The book mainly focuses on a broadband wireless communication system based on OFDM/OFDMA system because it is widely used in the modern wireless communication system. In Part I, the overall wireless communication theories are introduced. The basic structure of wireless communication system is composed of transmitter, wireless channel and receiver. A mathematical model for them is defined and their important theories are introduced. In addition, several physical layer techniques for mitigating wireless channel impairments are explained. In Part II, each wireless communication block is designed. This part will deal with error control codes, modulation, MIMO, multiple access techniques, equalizers and synchronization. In Part III, each wireless communication block is integrated and top-down design is introduced. As the first step of wireless communication block integration, the author discusses system requirements and parameters of wireless communications and select wireless communication blocks. The ultimate target of this part which is same as the main purpose of this book is to design a whole wireless communication system step by step.
