Published in 1833, this two-volume account by Charles Sturt (1795–1869) documents the difficulties of exploring unmapped territory in the harsh Australian summer. Volume 2 focuses on Sturt’s travels from the Murrumbidgee River to the Murray and his arduous return journey, describing the region’s topography and its Aboriginal inhabitants.
