This book is an exhaustive investigation of surface and subsurface runoff generation processes in a tropical forested catchment. Different hydrological, hydrochemical, geophysical and numerical modelling methods were used to investigate the hydrological catchment response to geomorphological and hydro-climatic characteristics. The study covers different temporal and spatial scales, examining differences in catchment behaviour. It provides insight on the hydrological regime of a poorly gauged catchment subject to future water resources development under touristic and real estate development. The analysis is also applicable to similar catchments in South Pacific Coast of Nicaragua, which is quickly developing.
